| Ball marker - Used to mark a ball's position when the ball is on the green prior to it being picked up to allow other player's to putt. It is a flat, small object. |
| Ball retriever - A device used to collect balls from inaccessible areas. It is a long pole with a scoop on the end. |
| Ball washer - A piece of equipment often located at the start of a hole, to allow players to clean their golf balls. |
| Banana ball - A shot that curves to the right in the shape of a banana. Also known as a Slice. |
| Beach - Also known as a bunker. A beach is a sand hazard. |
| Bend - Created by sidespin, this is the curve on a shot. |
| Bend one - To use sidespin to slice or hook a shot. |
| Bent grass - A type of fine bladed grass mainly found in cool climates. |
| Bermuda - A type of coarse grass used in hot climates. |
| Best ball - A tournament where two or more golfers play in a team. The better score on each hole is recorded. |
| Better ball - A match where golfers play in pairs. The better score on each hole is recorded. |
| Bird's nest - Where a ball lies in deep grass. |
| Birdie - A score of one stroke fewer than par on a hole. For example, a score of four on a par five. |
| Bite - The backspin applied to a ball that makes the ball stop dead. |
| Blade Putter - A putter similar in shape to other irons. |
| Blast - A shot, which takes a lot of sand when hit from a bunker. |
| Blind Bogey - Competition where players try to get nearest to a score, which has been randomly chosen through picking from a hat. |
| Blind Hole - Where the green is not visible by a player who is approaching it. |
| Block - Where a player hits a ball late in their swing. A block often results in a slice/banana. |
| Bogey - One shot over par on a hole. Originally known as par. |
| Bogey Competition - A competition where players play against a set score at every hole. |
| Borrow - Where a golfer plays to a particular side of the hole to allow for the slope of the putting green. |
| Boundary - The golf course boundary. |
| Bowker - A shot that goes wrong, but then hits a tree, fence etc. and bounces back into play. |
| Brassie - A new name for a 2 wood. |
| Break - The way the ball bounces or rolls. |
| Break the Wrists - Where a golfer twists their wrists back during their swing. |
| Bulger - Wooden club with curved face. |
| Bull Dog - Previous name for a 4 or 5 wood. |
| Bump and run - Similar to a chip shot, a bump and run is where after the chip the ball continues to run after landing. |
| Bunker - A hazard on a golf course, filled with sand or grass. |
| Bunt - Where a golfer intentionally hits a short shot. |
| Buried ball - Where a ball is partly hidden under sand in a bunker. |
