| Carry - The distance a golf ball moves in the air prior to it landing. |
| Cart - A trolley with two wheels that a golfer fits their golf bag to. |
| Casual Water - Water that is not a hazard. Golfers may lift their ball from casual water and drop without penalty. |
| Charge - Where a player comes from the rear and shows better play. |
| Chart the course - When a golfer paces each hole. This is so that the golfer is aware of how far they are from the putting green. |
| Chili-dip - Where a golfer strikes the ground prior to the ball. |
| Chip - Where a ball is hit high and short near to the putting green. |
| Chip in - Where the ball lands in the hole after a chip shot. |
| Chip shot - A shot usually taken close to the green, to land as near to the hole as possible. |
| Chip-and-run - Similar to a chip shot, a chip-and-run is where after the chip the ball continues to run after landing. |
| Choke - Where a golfer collapses when pressured. |
| Chop - To strike the golf ball with a chopping movement. |
| Claggy - Where the lie of the ball is muddy and wet. |
| Cleat - Spike on the bottom of a golf shoe. |
| Closed face - When a golfer points the clubface left of the target when addressing the ball. |
| Closed stance - Where a golfer places their leading foot closer to the ball. |
| Club - Used by golfers, a club is the piece of sporting equipment used to strike a golf ball. |
| Club head - The part of the club, which strikes the ball. |
| Clubhouse - A club?s management, leisure and amenities building. |
| Collar - The apron surrounding the green. |
| Committee - The nominated management of a golf club. |
| Compression - The softness of a golf ball. |
| Condor - Where a golfer gets four under par on a hole. |
| Confusion - A competition where one point is given to the first golfer to get to the putting green, one point for the golfer nearest to the hole and a point for the golfer who gets the golf ball in the hole first. The competition champion is the golfer with the high. |
| Control shot - A shot played with reduced power. |
| Core - Centre of a golf ball. |
| Course - A large landscaped area of land specifically designed for playing golf. |
| Course rating - The way in which courses are rated in terms of difficulty. |
| Cross-bunker - A long bunker positioned across the fairway. |
| Cross-handed grip - Where your left hand is positioned on the club beneath the right. |
| Cup - The plastic or metal container that lines the hole. |
| Cuppy - Deep and covered lie. |
| Cut shot - When a golfer puts backspin on the ball when hitting it towards the green. The ball should stop almost immediately. |
