Gimme - A putt that is sure to go in the hole on the subsequent shot.
Golf glove - Worn to improve grip between hand and club.
Grain - The direction the grass lies on a putting green.
Graphite - Used to make clubheads and shafts.
Green - Area of short grass surrounding the hole.
Green committee - Golf Club members who are in charge of the organisation and maintenance of the course.
Green fee - The payment to permit the golfer to use the course.
Green jacket - The award given to the champion of the Masters Tournament.
Greenkeeper - A member of staff who is employed to maintain the golf course.
Greenside - Near to the putting green.
Grip - The part of the club that the golfer grasps.
Groove - The indentations on the clubface.
Gross score - A golfer's score (total number of strokes) before the golfer's handicap is subtracted.
Gross Strokes - Gross Strokes is the actual score (number of strokes) before the player's handicap has been considered.
Ground Under Repair (GUR) - An area of a golf course that is being repaired. If a ball lands in an area marked 'GUR', they must remove the ball and drop without penalty.
