Waggle - The movement of the club head before the golfer takes their shot.
Water hole - A hole with water that golfers must hit the ball over.
Wedge - A metal club for short and high shots.
Whiff - When a golfer misses the ball when taking their shot.
Whins - Heavy rough (British term).
Whipping - The material used to wrap around the head and the shaft of a golf club join.
Whippy - When the shaft of a golf club is more supple than usual.
Windcheater - A low shot played against the wind.
Winter rules - These rules are local rules and only apply throughout winter.
Wood - A club used for long shots that is made from metal or wood.
Wormburner - A shot where the ball runs along the ground.
